When Sawyer Brown frontman Mark Miller asked the Moondance Jammin' Country crowd how many of them were seeing his band for the first time - he was shocked at how many hands shot up... "We've been around for 27 years, you people gotta get out more!" he scolded them Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the second annual festival near Walker, Minn. Originally named Savanna, country pop star Don King's original backup band changed its name to Sawyer Brown upon his retirement in 81, participated in the original American Idol-type network television show "Star Search" in 1983 and won it along with a recording contract with Capitol Records. Twenty albums, three number one country chart singles and 50 Billboard Hot Country Songs charting tracks later, they are still going strong...
